Living Well with Type 2 Diabetes: Small Changes That Add Up

Managing type 2 diabetes is a daily practice — but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Canadian diabetes educators consistently point to a handful of habits that make the biggest difference.

Move after meals

A 10–15 minute walk after your largest meal measurably lowers post-meal blood sugar.

Know your numbers

A1C every 3–6 months, blood pressure, and cholesterol — ask for your results and track them.

Ask about research

New treatment options reach patients through clinical studies first. If your numbers aren’t where you want them, a study may be worth exploring.
